A Newsletter for OUR Healing Journeys
I can't begin to tell you how excited and grateful I am to write this inaugural message in the first issue of The Healing Place newsletter. It's a project that's been on my heart for such a long time.
There's so much talk about healing nowadays but I often feel like many of us don't know that there are a MYRIAD of ways to heal from trauma, traumatic events, or just the day-to-day challenges we face. We may have been taught to just pray. Or to just stay busy. Or to get some medicine. All of which have some value. But I believe that when we open ourselves up to ALL the possibilities for healing, possibilities that will often go against what our culture says will work, then we will often find a path that makes sense to us. That's what this newsletter is about. I want to encourage you on your healing journey. Motivate you. I want to invite you think about the way you move through your life, how you show up for yourself and others. I desire for you to be able to answer these questions: What does joy feel like in my body? How do I find my peace in the midst of internal or external chaos? How do I love and be loved?
In this space, I will open up my own life solely with the hope that you will choose and walk your own path. Yes, I pray. Yes, I meditate. Yes, I take walks or find water to get still. And while I am a champion of mindfulness, centering prayer and a myriad of things, I deeply want you to find YOUR thing. I want you to find the thing that will liberate you from whatever pain or grief or rage that lived so big in your body for too long.
